So... who is this gentleman?
(To be read while epic music swells in a crescendo)
Ernesto Ramírez began a journey marked by the typical curiosity of a child growing up in the countryside. His training at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá coincided with an era-defining shift: the transition from the analog universe to the arrival of "digital demons" (much like what is happening today with AI).
While others were wary of computers, he latched on like a remora to a shark and embraced the tool, mastering a version of Photoshop with no layers or "Undo" (Ctrl+Z), and a scanner that endured whatever he threw onto it.
His career took off between the fast-paced newsroom of Diario Deportivo and interactive exploration at Icono Multimedia. There, design ceased to be flat and became navigable, gaining movement and sound. This period established a workflow that remains valid today: understanding technology as a tool, while keeping the focus on how the message is constructed.
This curiosity led to an experimental artistic side; Ernesto began creating interactive installations and video art that opened doors to iconic spaces such as MAMBO (Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá), the Jiménez tunnels, and the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater.
Movement eventually brought him to Barcelona, where he arrived with his work Ergonomatrón under his arm, exhibiting at the CCCB and collaborating with La Fura dels Baus.
Later, in Madrid, he reached a personal and professional milestone alongside his wife: LaCabeza magazine. A project that spanned 10 issues and, with the support of AECID, was distributed throughout Ibero-America. The publication was celebrated for its meticulous design, its fold-out format, and content that received excellent reviews across the industry.
During this stage, his signature appeared in publications like Rolling Stone and Esquire, and worked with brands like Pernod Ricard and Osborne, consolidating a style where the image is always in motion.
Today, after residencies in India and the French Riviera, he operates from Marseille, directing his studio LA TENAZ.
With a hybrid profile that combines decades of research in electronic art, design, and visual storytelling, Ernesto Ramírez develops audiovisual and graphic content for agencies, media, and brands.
His approach integrates visual criteria, narrative, and technology to address a clear goal: making complex ideas understood clearly, dynamically, and effectively.
He has worked in diverse contexts—from editorial projects to communication for international organizations and brands—adapting every solution to the message, format, and audience.
The tool changes (yesterday it was multimedia, today it might be AI), but the problem remains the same.
If it isn’t understood, it isn’t remembered.
